NE and OS date and time

 The system realigns the time of all the


NEs supervised by default every
24 hours.
 The NE's local time can be displayed
and/or configured.

 1) Open an equipment view of the NE.


 2) Select the menu Configuration  NE
Time
 3) If the time does not need to be
modified, click Close
 4) To align the time of the NE on the OS
time, click "Set"

Getting the NE time
 This action is used by an operator to display the time and date of
a number of NEs.

 1) In the Network Topology View select the NEs


 2) Select the menu
Operations  Time  Get
 3) Click Apply

 For each NE is displayed:


 NE date and time (when the response from the NE has been received
and is correct)

Setting NE time
 You use this action to send the OS time and date to a number of
NEs.

 1) In the Network Topology View select the NEs


 2) Select the menu:
Operations  Time  Set
3) Click Apply

 Each selected NE sends a response to the setting request


 "date and time", if the request has been executed correctly.
 "Error message", if a problem has occurred.

 2) Select menu Operations  Upload Remote Inventory
 3) Click OK and wait for completion message
 4) To display the result, select menu Operations  Display

4.3 Resetting an NE

 An NE reset may be needed in certain failure situations.

 This operation resets, shuts down and restarts all the processes
currently running on the NE

 Traffic is unaffected.

 1) Open the NE's equipment view.


 2) Select the menu: Supervision  Restart NE
 3) Communication between the NE and the OS is lost for a few
seconds.

 Select the new software tab
 In the action pull-down menu, select
"Activate"

 Click "OK" and confirm
