Note 1:

For each system, the equivalent length should be carefully checked according to the field piping
(including additional lengths for elbows, joints and bends). Figures should satisfy the piping length
limitation according to the models related engineering data book. In case equivalent piping length is
more than 90 meters, the gas pipe diameter of the main line should be size-up. In such a case, after

IZE-00012a 5
calculation of the equivalent piping length, ‘size-up’ box from the main pipe display properties windows
should be clicked (See section 4.4.4. of this manual).

Note 2:

As equivalent piping length is not figured in the software, check on the piping length conformity is not
done. See Note 2 regarding equivalent piping length check and calculation. Refer to ‘Complete VRV
Selection Process’, [in the ‘Useful information’ section of our Distributor’s home page] and models
related engineering data books for design and engineering details.

Note 3:

Wiring continuity is checked, i.e. if one unit is not connected it will be identified when checking wiring,
but the program cannot identify ‘how’ the unit is connected. For detailed information on wiring rules,
refer to ‘Design guideline on Super Wiring for VRV’ [in the ‘Useful information’ section of our
Distributor’s home page] and models related engineering data for design and related engineering details.

Note 4:

There is no entry for the wiring length. Wiring length should be checked for each system, and instruction
given to installers accordingly. For details regarding the wiring length, refer to ‘Design guideline on
Super Wiring for VRV’ [in the ‘Useful information’ section of our Distributor’s home page] and models
related engineering data for design and related engineering details.

Note 5:

The software doesn’t check if some units are not wired to a group. Also it does not allow the connection
of 2 R/C for one group in edit mode. Would this specific configuration be needed, the second R/C should
be added on the report.

Note 6:

Three options are included in the automatic drawing function: Series, Branch and Header. Refer to 4-3.
‘Automatic drawing’ section of this manual for details on how to use these functions.

3. Reference materials and documentation:

Design limitation regarding the piping length, wiring length, and remote control wiring length should be
carefully checked in the Engineering data books corresponding to the considered equipment. For further
installation details, you can also refer to the Installation manuals.
You can also refer to the existing guidelines:
- ‘Complete VRV Selection Process’, piping section
- ‘Design guideline on Super Wiring for VRV’
Parts of these documents are presented in the help file of EXZII. The full documents can be

4-3. Automatic drawing

A simple diagram is automatically created using all the indoor and outdoor units input in the Data Input screen.
Select one of the drawing patterns explained below. When unable to conduct automatic drawing, draw the
diagram manually.
Note: Automatic drawing resets the simple system diagram for the respective system.

(1) Series option (In case of cooling only or heat pump system)

Check the ‘Series’ button and then click the Automatic Drawing button. It creates a drawing in which the indoor
units input are connected sideways by joints from left to right in ascending numeric order.

(2) Series option (In case of heat recovery system)

IZE-00012a 19
With the same procedure as the item (1) above, it creates a drawing in which the BS units are connected sideways
like a ladder. Indoor units are grouped according to the BS Unit Group as specified and connected to the respective
BS unit. (In the example above, indoor units 1 and 2 are assigned the same BS unit group number, and indoor units 3
and 4 likewise.) Indoor units without a BS unit number (such as indoor units 5 and 6 in the example above) will not
be connected to a BS unit. In addition, indoor units connected to a BS unit are done so downstream of the BS unit
like a ladder.

IZE-00012a 20
(2) Branch option
Once proceeding with Automatic Drawing and Branch option, possibility is given to set some groups of indoor units.
The following window appear after proceeding:

Branch group 1

Branch group 2

As shown in the above diagram, branch group numbers can be assigned to each indoor unit branch group, with
the lower numbered groups situated at the top of the diagram. The branch group numbers are assigned as shown
in the following Branch Grouping Screen.

IZE-00012a 22
(4) Header option

Check the Header radio button and then click the Automatic Drawing button. It creates a drawing in which indoor units
input are connected to a header as much as possible in ascending numeric order. However, a header is determined based
on the capacity of indoor units to be connected and when the number of indoor units input exceeds the maximum number
for branching, those unable to be connected will not be drawn in the diagram. In such cases, manually draw the indoor
units that have not been connected. When heat recovery system is selected, this option is not available in the Automatic
Drawing.

IZE-00012a 23
(5) Group Control Automatic Drawing

Checking off the R/C Wiring when automatically drawing with the option selected from (1) to (4) allows the
automatic drawing of the R/C group control. Automatic drawing of the group control is executed as described
below.

(a) R/C automatic drawing is done from left to right. From the first unit with R/C, the consecutive indoor units
without R/C will be connected to form one control group. Operation is reiterated at the time consecutive
indoor unit is equipped with a R/C as shown below:

In some case, some units cannot be connected due to the method described above. In such case, following
warning message is displayed and correction
should be done using the drawing edit mode.

3 first indoor units are not connected to any control groups:

To be arranged in edit mode

Note: The same logic apply to any pattern of drawings.

Moreover, there is a check box given only for the Property screen of the main piping, in order to enable sizing up of
gas pipe diameter if necessary. [This program does not automatically size up gas pipe (diameter). See note 1 for
details]

IZE-00012a 27
Note 1:
For each system, the equivalent length should be carefully checked according to the field piping
(including the number of elbows). Figures should satisfy the piping length limitation according to the
models related engineering data. Refer to Complete VRV Selection Process, in the piping section and
models related engineering data for design and engineering details. In case equivalent piping length is
more than 90 meters, the gas pipe diameter of the main line should be size-up. In such a case, after
calculation of the equivalent piping length, ‘size-up’ box from the main pipe display properties windows
should be clicked (See section 4.4.4. of this manual).

4-5. Piping length input screen

This screen allows inputting of all piping lengths in a table. Inputting of piping lengths is also possible on the Property
screen. Refer to 4-4-4. Piping Property Screen for details. Note that the amount of additional refrigerant charge will only
be calculated when none of the cells contain “0.0 m” for the piping length.
Note: In this program, data regarding piping length are used only to calculate the amount of additional
refrigerant charge. Therefore, be aware that it can neither check the refrigerant piping length limit nor
automatically size up gas pipe (diameter) according to the equivalent piping length.

brings up the Printing System Selection screen and allows
selection of a system to be printed.
(1) (4) (5)
(2) Check the items to be printed for the selected system.
- The Kit Summary Table is a table showing the list of type
(2) numbers and total number of refrigerant branch kits by system.
(3) This will fit the system diagram into the report frame (Note 1)
(4) Clicking this button will start Macro to generate the selected
system diagram.
(3)
(5) Clicking this button cancels tasks and brings back the Main
(6) screen.
(6) Clicking this button will generate the list of the indoor and
outdoor units used in the system selected in and excel format
(Note 2)

(Note 1) Fit to one page function:

If you select the ‘Fit to one page’ function, the size of the units will be reduced to fit the system diagram into the report
frame. In case too many units are the system this function should not be used as it may become difficult to read the
diagram.

Would you not select the ‘Fit to one page’ function, above a certain number of units in the system, the system diagram
will be out of the report frame. In such a case you will need to use the cut and paste functions in the excel sheet to
position all the units within the report frame.

1. Creation and adjustment of printing data.
Clicking the OK button on the Print screen starts up the EXCEL application and the following procedures will be
performed on EXCEL. The program automatically creates the following printing data based on the systems and
items selected in the Print screen.
(1) Cover
(2) Kit Summary Table
The tables for the following items will be created regarding the refrigerant branch kits selected.
- A list of type numbers and total number of refrigerant branch kits by system
- A list of type numbers and total number of refrigerant branch kits for the entire building
Only systems selected in the Printing System Selection screen will be shown in the list.
(3) Simple System Diagram
A simple system diagram will be automatically created by using EXCEL’s Drawing function. One sheet of the
simple diagram will be created for each system. When an automatically created diagram has a poor layout, such
as when tables and indoor units in the diagram overlap, adjust it manually on EXCEL.

(4) Template
Refers to a blank preset format. Copy and use as necessary.

The program will create one sheet of data for each printing data set above. (The following example represents
the print result for a building with two systems.)

When the ‘Fit to one page’ function is not selected, printing data for a simple system diagram may not fit in
the diagram frame. If that is the case, manually adjust the diagram, such as dividing it, to fit in the frame by
using EXCEL’s Copy, Cut and Paste functions.
Refer to 1. Report set-up section for more details.
