At the end of the session the participants would be
able to:
 Understand how to make work plan , time line and cost
estimates.
 Show sample of work plan and cost estimates.
 Develop work plan and corresponding cost estimates for
action research in addressing problems and attaining goals.
ACTION RESEARCH WORK
PLAN
A work plan is an outline of a set of goals and processes by which
a team and/or person can accomplish those goals, and offering the reader
a better understanding of the scope of the project. In the Work plan you
must specify objectives you will meet over a given period of time and
how you intend to meet them. This portion of your proposal should
contain a graphic timeline as well as a table of objectives, activities, and
responsibilities. The Work Plan may consist of a detailed table or
timeline.
Our Work Plan describes:

 What you will do?

 How you will do it?
 Who will perform each task?
 Spells out multiple objectives.
 Includes a timeline
ACTION RESEARCH TIMELINES

One factor to consider in planning your time is to know your paper’s

length ,type source and number of sources. Ask yourself these questions:

How long does your paper need to be?

How many sources are required?
Are you required to use any primary sources?
Do you have to turn anything in before your first draft, such as a topic
proposal, research statement, or working bibliography?
Your timeline should look something like this:

Planning—10%

Understand your assignment. Even if you know that you aren’t going to be able to start, work on your research for a
couple of days, immediately after your paper is assigned, you should do the following:

Gathering and reading research—40%

 Decide whether you need primary sources.

 Take a trip to the library.
 Writing your paper—50%
Search the Internet.
 Read your sources.
 Write a research statement.
 Create a working bibliography.
 Write an introduction.
 Write body paragraphs.
 Use the assigned style guide to ensure correct citations.
 Write the bibliography.
 Revise, revise, revise!
GANTT CHART
A Gantt chart is a type of bar chart that illustrates a project schedule. This chart
lists the tasks to be performed on the vertical axis, and time intervals on the horizontal
axis. The width of the horizontal bars in the graph shows the duration of each activity.
