What is Hazard Evaluation?
 Theprocess of assessing the different
physical, chemical and biological
hazard in a workplace.
Two Main Factors in
Evaluating Hazards
 1. The potential consequence
associated with a hazard.

 2.The likelihood those consequence


will occur.
Other Factors:

 Frequency of exposure.
 Duration of Exposure.
 Additional circumstances that might

affect the risk of injury.


Classification of Hazard
 Class ‘A’ Hazard
◦ Major condition or practice that is likely to
cause a serious permanent disability, loss
of a body part, death or an extensive loss
of asset
Classification of Hazard
 Class ‘B’ Hazard
◦ Serious condition or practice that is likely
to cause a serious injury resulting in
temporary disability of a worker or major
damage on asset.
Classification of Hazard
 Class ‘C’ Hazard
◦ Minor condition likely to cause non serious
injury or non disruptive damage on
property.
