Why CPR May Fail

• Delay in starting
• Improper procedures (ex. Forget to
pinch nose)
• No ACLS follow-up and delay in
defibrillation
– Only 15% who receive CPR live to go home
– Improper techniques
• Terminal disease or unmanageable
disease (massive heart attack)
