• If the Proforma mentioned earlier is not maintained , SBP cash
examiners can impose penalties of Rs. 5000/- per instance and Rs. 500/-
per day during which default continues.
• Soiled notes are those which remain in circulation for a long time , loose
their color and become soft.
• Defective notes are those which are torn or have spots of ink etc.
• Maintenance of min sorted balance of issuable/ re – issuable notes for
one day , in accordance with the average daily cash requirements.
• Packets/bundles should be sorted into issuable /non issuable bank notes
over the payment counters.
• Unsorted /non issuable currency notes of any denomination if issued
and caught will be penalized.
• Sorted stamp to be affixed on band used for making packets of all sorted
cash.
• If sorted stamp is not affixed on packets of bank noted , along with name
of bank, branch and date of sorting, a fine or penalty will be imposed.

• Non acceptance of small denominations , or


cut/soiled/mutilated notes may lead to penalty.
• Usage of staple pins on the packets of any denomination of
notes ma lead to imposition of penalty.
• Cash in safe should also be kept according to proforma
discussed earlier.
• Sorted cash is to be kept separate , and soiled / defective
separate.

Steps to avoid counterfeit Notes:


• Cash examiner can write true picture of cash position
• Installation of equipment for detection of fake currency noted
for banks own use and for use of public.3Educate customers
about security features of currency notes.
• Maintain close liaison with law enforcement agencies
• Encourage members of public to handover counterfeit notes
to SBP BSC, or nearest bank branch and reporting of incidents
to law enforcement agencies.

• Sale Purchase of Prize Bonds:


• SBP has directed banks to ensure reporting of cash
transaction involving sale/purchase of prize bonds exceeding
Rs. 2.5 M to FMU ,GOP, SBP building Khi, as per AML act,2010
• The personal information of prize bonds holder , seller or
purchaser will be obtained by banks on approved annexure.
