• We also have a Sound cloud account where we will store your radio
features if needed
The brief in a nutshell
• The BBC are looking for new talent to produce
original five-minute dramas for Radio 4 and
Radio 4 Extra.
• The shows must be five minutes and must have at
least three characters.
• The shows will be aimed at 16- 25-year-olds
• Producers must record their own sound effects.
You will need to…
• Create an original idea for your drama.
• Produce mind maps and character studies.
• Find and audition your actors.
• Write a five-minute script.
• Source background sound effects and music
• Record your own Foley sound.
• Record and edit your drama.
Diary
• As we go through the weeks you will be required to write five short
evaluations (at the end of each week), detailing your tasks and how
well you performed.
• At the end of the 5 weeks you will produce a detailed evaluation based
on these notes and feedback from teaching staff and other students.
