Sound Editing – Changing Content
Sound editing allows you to
change the chronological or
logical order of a series of
sounds or speech. This gives you
enormous power to be creative,
especially in the world of fiction
& drama. It also places significant
responsibility on your shoulders
if you are working with factual
news or documentary content.

It is also possible to create emphasised impact by adding in sound effects and/or


music between pieces of recorded speech, such as those heard on a radio broadcast…

Sound editing activity 2 – Explore Adobe Audition

• Open Adobe Audition from the dock…


• Create a new project & important some of your
downloads / existing recordings – vocals, foley,
ambient sounds etc
• Lay them out in a multitrack mix, with different
sounds on different tracks
• Experiment with cutting and moving audio
within the tracks
• See what you can construct in your first audio
