Create the structure of your Weebly site, call it “Animation” with the following
headings:
1. Research
2. Design
3. Build
4. Evaluation
Download and place a copy of the brief on your Weebly site, on the front Animation
page.
Open, read and store “Research Examples” sheet from Trev.
Begin worksheets: “Exploring Research”. Add evidence to RESEARCH page. 1.1
Understand primary and secondary research. Open, understand and begin the
“Primary Research, Secondary Research” worksheets. Add evidence to RESEARCH
page. 2.1
Continue building evidence on Weebly. Must include talking about PHONEMES and
anatomy of mouth/speech. 2.1, 3.1
Produce your own version of "Lip Synch with Dr. Nick". Save file as
"My_first_lip_sync.fla". Add evidence to DESIGN page. 2.1, 3.1
Produce two short camera shot types using BG plate and motion tweens. Save file as
“My_first_two_shot.fla”. Add evidence to production log.
Add examples of space ship movement over the backgrounds. Place these inside
timeline folders based on each shot. Save file as “My_second_two_shot.fla”.Add
evidence to production log.
Make, export and place two shot types as QT files. Call them “shot_1” and “shot_2”.
Import them into a new Premiere file and edit as sequence. Save file as
“Animate_2_shot_sequence”. Add evidence to production log.
Continue building evidence of all tasks today on Weebly in your Design/blog section.
Use any spare time to complete the research documents from previous lessons.
WEEK FOUR: SOUND’S ABOUT RIGHT
Open, understand and complete the “Exploring Sound Worksheet”. This must be
placed in your RESEARCH section. (U5, LO1: AC 1.1)
Learn how to split audio in Animate, to allow focus on specific areas of the timeline
when animating.
Explore audio editing, trimming and how to clean up/enhance sound files using
effects in Premiere.
Understand sourcing or recording audio for your final animation edit. You will need
to add or replace a total of sounds (see table below). You must keep the narrator
and voice actor channels.
Create a Premiere file which will hold your final edited animation. Import the intro
clip and all audio files, set as channels and save the project.

Ask the lecturer to revisit any specific animation skills which you feel need
refreshing. These will then be saved and placed in the “Ask Trev” folder on Moodle.
Be able to find the timings sheet prepared by the lecturer for your own animation.
Be able to find the title card prepared by the lecturer for your own animation.
Be able to find the audio files prepared by the lecturer for your own animation.
Begin your own animation. You will have the remainder of this session plus five more
production weeks. In the final week you will have to produce a short evaluation
which will be based on a series of questions, so plan your time to include that as
well.
