DRE Imports a DFMEA into GDM

 DFMEA Import in GDM

After finding the appropriate baseline to start the program

DFMEA, first save it on your hard drive then upload to GDM.

Before importing ensure the file is named correctly:

Naming Conventions

Model Year_Program_VPPS Level 3 (optional for Powertrain)_noun name_DFMEA (or DRBFM)

Examples:
2017_D2UB_60.02.05_Wheelhouse Liner Subsystem_DFMEA
2015_HFV6_Crankshaft_DRBFM

1) Upload a DFMEA into GDM

Select the appropriate VPPS folder in GDM for import

Vehicle (gdm)
Example VPPS 20.01.01

The file will then be

stored in this folder

Select “File” and “Import”

Select “Add Files”, wait for the explorer window to pop up, then select the file
for upload and confirm with “OK”

Category (PD Engineering) and the Record Type (DFMEA or DRBFM)

Naming Convention: Model Year_Program_VPPS_noun name_DFMEA (or DRBFM)_optional entries

Example: 2010_GMX511_50.01_Underbody Braces_DFMEA

Initial File Upload, Closure, Approval and Archival

 Upload DFMEAs at DSI or VPI
 DFMEAs need to be closed, approved and archived when a program
is done. The timing requirements are:
 Closure until VSO / VTC / MVBns (SORP in exceptions)
 Approval and start of Archival until FA / VDC (SORP in
exceptions)
 End of Archival is 50 years after end of production (PRD047)

 The DRE is responsible for “Closure” (all action items are done)

 Approval workflow and responsibility differ between Powertrain and

Vehicle

Powertrain: VSO = Validation Sign Off, FA = Final Approval

Vehicle: VTC = Vehicle Testing Complete, VDC = Validation Documentation Complete Instruction
