Effects of sexism on

gender

In the past, people in Kuwait
preferred having a male new
born than a female child. Thus,
gender socialization began
before birth, whereby the child
was treated in certain ways. Boys
and girls were socialized into
segregated gender norms and
behavioural expectations; their
clothes, toys, and occupations
were also gendered.
Comparably, women in Pakistan
were nurtured into domestic
roles as opposed to leadership
roles of boys. This became a
impediment in achieving socio-
economic and political progress
of Kuwait.
