INDONESIA ELECTION

Jakarta- joko widodo,who wonthe hearts of indonesians with his

common-man image, garnered 53 percent of the vote in indonesian’s
presidential election, final results from the election commissin
showed Tuesday.
The numbers were released shortly after his opponent, former gen.
prabowo subianto, declared he was with drawing from the contest,
saying there was fraud during the election and that it was unfair and
undemocratic.
Widodo,a former furniture maker know widely as”jokowi,”
maintained a slim lead of about 4 percentage points in unofficial
quick counts by polling agencies released after the july 9 election.
 But subianto, who has declared assets of $140 million and
was on his third bid for the presidency, repeatedly claimed that
polling firms with links to his campaign showed he was a
head. “we reject the 2014 presidential election, which is
unlawful, and there for we withdraw from the ongoing
process,” he said
There was e were no immediate reports of violence. About
100 subianto supporters held a peaceful protest some 300
yards from the election commission building in downtown
Jakarta, chanting “ prabowo is the real president” and holding
banners demanding that the commussion stop cheating.
 The building was surrounded by thousands of policemen to
maintain security after a particulary nasty presidential campaign. It was
the first election that pitted two candidates directly againts each other
since the, muslim majority country of 240 million emerged from the
long and brutal suharto dictatorship 16 years ago.
Supporters of both men used social media for pesonal attacks,
and subianto’s supporters led a smear campaign againts
widodo, spreading rumors he is not muslim
The commission was to formally declare the winner later Tuesday
evening. Final results showed that widodo won 70,997,859 votes,
or 53.15 percent of the nearly 133 million valid ballots cast, while
subianto won 62,576,444 votes, or 46.85 percent.

A Boy Hidd in Wheel Well of Airplane Survived

A 16 year old boy has survived a dangerous journey hidden in

the wheel wellof airplane. It was a 5 hour flight from
California to hawaii.
The boy had run away from home and climbed a fence at the
airport in san jos, California. He crossed the tarmac and
crawled into the wheel well of Hawaii airlines flight 45.
According to FBI special agent tom simon, the boy quickly
lost consciousness as temperatures in the compartment
ssank as low as minus 80 degrees Fahrenheit. It was 62
degrees Celsius below zero.
 The boy got an apparent miracle. After he had
been unconscious for most of the journey, the boy
regained his consciousness about an hour after the
plane landed on Sunday morning.
The boy hopped down from the wheel well. He
started wandering around the airport grounds,
where was spotted by ground crew.
The boy was turned over to local child
protection officials. A medical examination
showed that he appeared to have been unharmed.
Since records began in 1947, about 100 wheel well
stowaways are thought to have attempted to board
flights. Around three quarters of them died.
“Our primary concern now is for the well being of
the boy, who is exceptionally lucky to have
survived” Hawaii airlines said in a statement.
