DiskLink

With DiskLink the user can store patient

studies to the HDI’s internal hard drive
or onboard magneto optical disk drive.
If a disk is present in the MO drive
during the exam the study will be stored
to both locations.

Studies stored to the hard drive can be

recalled for review or copied to MO disk.

DiskLink is a prerequisite for both the

NetLink and WebLink features.

DiskLink

Studies are stored to 3.5 inch MO disk

in the Data Exchange File Format
(DEFF) only. These disks can be hand-
carried to a DEFF capable printer,
archive or workstation for processing.

MO disks can also be taken to another

DiskLink enabled ultrasound system and
the studies copied to it’s hard drive.

WebLink

Remote users
can connect via
local network,
LAN dial-up or
the internet.

WebLink is an optional feature that allows the

ultrasound system to act as a web server for Navigation Box

NetLink

NetLink is the Philips Ultrasound trade

name for DICOM features implemented on
the HDI 3000, 3500 and 5000 ultrasound
systems.

NetLink enables these products to

participate in a DICOM patient data
management network as a Service Class
User (SCU) for store, print and other
functions.

NetLink

DICOM stands for Digital Imaging and

Communications in Medicine. DICOM is a
standardized application protocol jointly
developed by the American College of
Radiology (ACR) and the National
Electronics Manufacturers Association
(NEMA). This standard is widely
supported by manufacturers throughout
the medical imaging industry.

Image management products conforming to the DICOM standard share data
with each other using the same methods. This uniformity helps insure that
health care providers can successfully integrate equipment from a variety of
vendors into their digital imaging environment.

NetLink Differences

It’s important to note that the HDI 3000,

3500 and 5000 ultrasound systems do not
have identical DICOM capabilities.

While most functions are native to the

NetLink feature, some require the addition
of third-party vendor products to be
implemented.
