As we have seen, the fact that the achievement of gifted
children is restricted can be attributed to several key factors. It
is clear that more investment needs to be made to train
teachers in dealing with gifted children in the classroom, to
reduce class sizes so that teachers can meet their needs more
effectively and to encourage parents to undertake more active
roles in this respect. Obviously, it has not been possible to
consider further reasons why it is hard to provide support to
those who are claimed to be endowed with exceptional
intellectual gifts. More research needs to be done into the
needs of this neglected area, especially as regards the impact of
the disruption cause by gifted children when they are bored.
