SMARTs Synthesis…

YUVARAJ KUBERAN
Fundamental of a Research
Why do we do Research?

THERE IS ALWAYS A SCOPE FOR IMPROVEMENT

-Anything in the world

-A system, reaction scheme, Analysis etc.,
-The point is one should always innovate
-No reinventing of the Wheel
SMARTs synthesis…

• Specific
• Measurable
• Attainable
• Realistic
• Timely
• safety
Specific…

• What is to be done?" –Objectives & Plan

-Well defined, clear, and unambiguous.

-A research without objective & Plan is a criminal waste.

• How it is to be done?- Route map

• Always stick to Plan-don’t deviate

Measurable…

• With specific criteria that measure your progress toward the

accomplishment of the goal.

• Establish concrete criteria for measuring progress toward the attainment of

Goal.

• Always measure your progress.

• How do I know if I have reached my goal?

Attainable…

• Achievable and attainable.

• Figure out ways you can realize the goal
• The achievability should make you feel challenged but defined well
enough that you can achieve it.
• Ask yourself? Do I have the capabilities to achieve the goal? If not,
what am I missing?
• Have others done it successfully before?
Reliable…

• Is the goal realistic and within reach?

• Is the goal reachable, given the time and resources?

• Are you able to commit to achieving the goal?

Timely…

• When we talk about target time, we have always excuses and reasons.

• A SMART goal must be time-bound in that it has a start and finish

date.

• Remember, if not done on time then it is not done at all.

safety…

A SMARTs Synthesis cannot be possible without?

YOU!!!
• The Most Valuable & Intangible Asset of organization

• So Your Safety is always important…

• And you are responsible for environment & safety of others

How to ensure the safety?

• How many of you are familiar with MSDS?

-MSDS: Material Safety Data Sheet

-is designed to provide procedures for handling of a chemical.

MSDS's include information such as physical data (melting point, boiling point, flash point etc.),
toxicity, health effects, first aid, reactivity, storage, disposal, protective equipment, and spill/leak
procedures. These are of particular use if a spill or other accident occurs.)
Label reading…

Always read the label before handling
Summary
Don’t forget Thank you…
