Madali lang dahil ‘boses’ lang ang
puhunan.
Utak, puso, galing, talent, good attitude ang totoong puhunan!
Kahit anong course, kahit hindi
naka-graduate, okay lang.
Ideally, dapat Communication course ang degree mo. Pero, minsan may
exception.
Basta maganda ang boses, pwede.
Pag wala namang sense ang sinasabi, hindi rin.
Totoong masarap at masayang maging
Radio DJ! 

• It’s a purposeful work. You educate, entertain, inspire.

You give value to your listeners.

• You grow and become a more responsible person.

• A source of income and other earning opportunities.

MY RADIO DJ STORY
7 years ago. 
• Summer of 2013 – I auditioned at 99.1 Spirit FM.

• DJ Skye – My air name was already in my dream book, even

before I auditioned

• Included in the top 5 DJ Idols; evaluated and accepted in

June 2013

• Trainor: DJ Mark (Most Music in the Evening, Mon to Fri,

6pm to 8pm)
• What I learned: controlling the console, loading songs and
commercials, reading ads on air, interviewing, voice modulation,
music cueing, doing radio commercials, news reports, etc.

• Strengths: clear speaking voice, story telling, giving advice, love for
love songs

• Weaknesses: fear in speaking English, not that funny on air, may

‘sound formal’ or ‘nakakaantok’ at times

• Perks: Hosting stints, Voice-over Projects, Endorsements

Oral Communication Skills
• Clarity of thoughts and voice.

• Competent to express yourself in Filipino and English.

• Commercials, interviews, delivering news and information

Pleasing, likable and good personality
• Marunong makisama at maka-relate sa ibang tao.

• Someone who can be an inspiration to others

• You can’t be seen but you should be felt.

Sense of humor and positivity
• Kaya mong pagaanin ang takbo ng isang mabigat ng
usapan, without being insensitive.

• Kahit malungkot ang mga tao, kapag napakinggan ka,

mapapangiti sila.

• Kaya mong magpasaya o magbigay ng pag-asa sa listener

na may pinagdadaanan.
Wit and quick-thinking skills
• Magaling mag-adlib/spiel para maiwasan ang mortal sin:
dead air

• Mabilis mag-isip, magaling makaramdam.

• Being updated on current events will be a big help.

Reading informative materials will also expand your
knowledge & vocabulary.
Good speaking voice
• Magandang pakinggan na boses – hindi nakakairita o masakit sa
tenga.

• May buhay and can capture listeners

• Should be your natural speaking voice – hindi pinipilit o

masyadong minomodulate

• Hindi required na malalim at buo lagi ang boses. Character and

Personality DJs exist.
Good attitude & character
• Huwag mayabang!

• Willing to learn and share what you learn.

• Fair and objective

• Sincere and committed, not just interested.
