Behaviorism was developed by B.F. Skinner and
this school of thought assumes that the
learning process takes place through
conditioning.
According to him, behavior is a learned
response reinforced by the consequences
resulting from that behavior.

Cognitivism involves examining learning,


memory, problem solving skills, and intelligence.
Cognitive theorists may want to understand how
problem solving changes throughout childhood,
how cultural differences affect the way we view
our own academic achievements, language
development, and much more.
Examples of Cognitive Learning

● Asking students to reflect on their experience
● Helping students find new solutions to problems
● Encouraging discussions about what is being taught
● Helping students explore and understand how ideas are connected
● Asking students to justify and explain their thinking

APPLICATION OF CONSTRUCTIVISM IN EDUCATION

Learning theory of constructivism incorporates a learning process


wherein the student gains their own conclusions through the creative aid
of the teacher as a facilitator.

In a constructivist curriculum, the educator must make room to


ask open-ended questions. This pushes the learners to look at
things past their factual sense and be able to think critically
about them. In addition, it must incorporate time for students to
be able to process, reflect, and build on what they learned. Real
world examples are often used for students to be able to
inductively grasp concepts.

APPLICATION OF HUMANIST IN EDUCATION

The humanistic theory of teaching and learning is an educational


theory that believes in teaching the ‘whole’ child. A humanist
approach will have a strong focus on students’ emotional
wellbeing and eternally view children as innately good ‘at the
core’.
“Self-actualization” is the education aim which is pursued by all of
the humanism educators.
