Dear sales team, the new AGIVIR range is now available for sale.
In this document you will find the main sales recommendations that we can share with you at this stage. These will allow you
to optimize your customer approach and maximize your impact .... And your sales!
1. What is the concept of AGIVIR membranes?
- New PATENTED technology with bactericidal and virucidal properties (including Coronaviruses). Patents pending.
- This surface treatment will allow us to manufacture antibacterial and antivirus membranes for various applications in places
open to the public such as dependent old people's home, schools, nurseries or offices, shops, cultural and leisure facilities
as well as public transport. It can also be used for modular structures for the reception of patients (field hospitals) or for the
temporary increase in storage capacities of hospital structures, interior fittings (separation of medical boxes).
2. What are the AGIVIR membranes made of?
- It has been known since Antiquity that silver has germicidal and bactericidal properties. And, it has recently been found that
silver also has antiviral properties. Besides, it is used today for its antibacterial properties in masks, dressings, clothing,
military hydration systems, etc
- Serge Ferrari development: based on these recent works we have developed our invention. It consists in proposing
a composite membrane coated with a polymeric coating having an antiviral action thanks to the presence of silver on
its surface while maintaining all its properties, functionalities and performance (mechanical, fire, …).
- Please note, our technology implements silver particles but not silver nanoparticles. Concerned about the health aspects
and the environmental impact of our products, the non-use of nanoparticles was a will and a real choice which was part of
our technical specifications to avoid any discussion on the subject, our products , with surface efficiency, being intended for
the public.
The formulation acts by stopping the replication of the genetic material of the viruses which leads to their deactivation
and their non-proliferation on our membranes’ surface.

3. Which test methods have been used?
a. Antibacterial test method:
- Adaptation of protocol ISO 21702: results available on request
b. Anti-virus test method:
- In collaboration with the Lyon based VirHealth laboratory, a recognized European expert in virus-related tests, we have
followed a standardized test protocol in order to precisely define under drastic conditions the % of live virus on a AGIVIR
membrane in comparison with an untreated standard membrane. This test is largely based on the ISO 21702 “Measurement
of antiviral activity on plastics and other non-porous surfaces”
- Based on recent studies, it has been established that viruses can remain active for up to 4 days on plastic surfaces. We
decided to conduct a severe test after only 15 minutes and then an hour. We have also added mucus and saliva to speed up
the virus replication process. Test protocol based on ISO 21702 standards.
- The results obtained are as follows:
94,99% of viruses have been disabled after 15

minutes 99.46% of viruses have been disabled after
one hour

4. What is the durability of the membranes? Of the surface treatment?
Serge Ferrari membranes are associated with exceptional durability proven for many years. By adding virucidal technology,
we are not going to alter this durability of the membranes from a mechanical and physical point of view.
With regard to the durability of the treatment, according to our knowledge of the markets and the state of our technical
knowledge, we can establish the following observation: according to the uses, the forms of the covered supports and the
exposures to various constraints and / or weathering, the membranes retain their virucidal properties for up to 3 years if
the membrane is cleaned in accordance with the instructions indicated in the technical sheet.
For intensive use, it is the wear amount of the membrane which will define its limit of use.
5. Are there any special maintenance recommendations?
The main advice is to keep the membrane surface clean. To maintain the virucidal characteristics of AGIVIR, it is advisable to
regularly clean the surface with a neutral detergent (Ferrari Cleaner 500 or equivalent). The use of solvents, strongly acidic
or basic products is prohibited. And the same for cleansers containing abrasive agents or abrasive sponges.
6. Is there a skin risk for users?
- The Serge Ferrari group has a range intended for furniture on which we have the approvals related to the cytotoxicity which
allowed us to make many projects (airports, medical material…)
- Our technologies are always based on respect for users
- Certification of virucidal references is in progress.

7. Recycling
Is the material still recyclable after applying the virucidal treatment?

Our membranes will remain recyclable as all of our PVC membranes
are.
