The Difference in US & British English


• Americans always pronounce the letter R in very strong way.
• Make sure your tongue doesn’t touch on top of your mouth
(Examples: LaRi, HeRi, putRi).
• In England, the R tends to be silent.
• For example, the words “load” and “lord” would sound very
similar since the R tends to be silent before another consonant.
It’s also silent at the end of a word in British English.
