Motivation
The class will look at the pictures of Lam-ang, Bantugan,
Aliguyon and Tuwaang and they will identify from which tribe do the
following epic heroes belong.

Lam-ang Bantugan
Aliguyon Tuwaang

Presentation Those pictures were the different faces of our Filipino epic heroes. One
of them is Bantugan, an epic hero from Maranaw, Mindanao.

Teacher will give a short historical background about the story.(Power


point Presentation)

The teacher will present the characters of the story.


Present the story to the class and let them read the text.
The Good Prince Bantugan

An old king ruled over the kingdom of Bumbaran. His kingdom


was prosperous, his people were good , and he should have been
very happy .But the king was not contented. His heart was full
of envy toward his younger brother, Prince Bantugan. Every time
someone praised Prince Bantugan, the king frowned and looked
angry.

"Prince Bantugan is so handsome…………….(continuation of the


story)

The class will be group into four. Each group is given one characteristic

Group 4: Charming attitude

Motivation
The class will be divided into four (4) groups and each group
must have one leader. The four groups will write 10 verbs in a given
manila paper and mount it on the board.

All their listed verbs will be discussed as the lesson moves on.

Presentation
Remember class that verbs, unlike nouns, have the s-form of the word
for the singular form and the base form for its plural form. please take a
look at the example.

Now we will move on with the lesson regarding the rules on Subject-
Verb Agreement with indefinite pronouns.

Indefinite pronouns can either be singular, plural, or both singular and


plural.

1. The following indefinite pronouns are singular and should take a


singular verb.

Anybody Everybody No one someone

each nobody somebody

Examples:
Everybody is going to the library to watch the play.
No one wants to miss the show tonight.
Someone says the play will last two hours.

2. The following indefinite pronouns are plural and should take a


plural verb.

Examples:
Both are doing well in the competition.
Several agree to take part in the games.
Many of the games require team effort.
3. The following indefinite pronouns can either be singular or
plural, depending on their use in the sentence.
all any more most none some

Examples:
Most of the cake is gone.
Most of the invitations have been sent.

Motivation
The class will watch a video presentation of someone doing
character portrayal.
What have you seen in the video?
What character thus she is portraying?
Is she doing well on her character?

Presentation What was in the video was about character portrayal. Which character
portrayal is our lesson for today.

Character portrayal is the representation of someone, either in the form of


a dramatic character, a spoken description, or even a photograph or painting
of the person. You can also talk about the portrayal of an object or idea.

Examples:
1. Character portrayal of Poseidon

2. Caharacter portrayal of Power Ranger

To give justice to the character that you are going to portray, here are some
techniques of character portrayal that will best help you.

The following are methods of portraying a character:

1. direct description stated in the text


Aliguyon was precocious.

2. by what the character says


“ I no longer wish to kill you, O Pumbakayon,” Aliguyon replied.
3. by what the character thinks and feels
To this (Bantugan’s) astonishment, no one met him and no one wanted to
speak to him. This saddened the good prince.

4. by what the character does


He (Bantugan) knew that his brother hated him, so he decided to leave.

5. by what others say or think about him/her


“My master is dead,” the parrot from Bumbaran cried in grief, “… he who
was so good to his people.”

Assessment Using the techniques of character portrayal, identify how character has been portrayed in

Assignment Draw the character that you want to portray (looks, costume, etc.) and give atleast five
descriptions of the character, it should be in paragraph form. Put it on a short bond paper.
