INTRODUCTION TO THE CASE
• This case study examines the protection, privacy, and trust issues that surround e-
commerce in Kenya in order to ensure that customers have confidence in these
online businesses.
• The aim of the research is to come up with solutions for e-commerce in terms of
trust, protection, and privacy.
• Consumer mistrust is a major concern, with the fear of being exposed to online
fraudulent activity and the privacy of private information being the key concerns.
• This has been Kenya's biggest roadblock to e-commerce. With all of the advantages
that online business offers to both businesses and customers, it is in the best
interests of businesses to improve their trustworthiness among their users.
• The study demonstrates the problems that e-commerce faces as well as potential
solutions to those challenges.
• Finally, it makes recommendations for how the government, online businesses, and
customers should accept online business and enjoy the full benefits of e-commerce.
• Trust in E-Commerce – An important aspect for any business that can’t be
ignored.
• Privacy in online business – Regarding the protection of personal
information be it business or in private affairs
• Security- A very important aspect for every online business and consumer
ensuring that consumer and company information is safeguarded.
