WEATHER DATA SUMMARY CLIMATE CONSULTANT

 This tabular column give

various information
about Horizontal
radiation, Diffused
Radiation, Direct normal
Radiation, on hourly and
average daily total basis
throughout the year.
 It also gives information
about DBT, Dew point,
Relative humidity wind
direction in angles, wind
speed on monthly basis.
 It gives average monthly
ground temperature of
three different depths.
illustrated in the further
graphs.
GRAPHS CLIMATE CONSULTANT

 This graph gives the temperature range throughout the

year’
 The grey band between 20-25 range on y-axis through out
the year indicates the comfort zone.
 The white band indicates the mean temperature.
 The values above the white band are average and design
high and below are average and design low.

 This graph gives the radiation range throughout the year’

 The white band indicates the mean temperature.
 The values above the white band are average and design
high and below are average and design low.
 The different color codes are indicates the radiation range
on different surfaces, mentioned in the legend
GRAPHS CLIMATE CONSULTANT

 This graph shows the variation in the diurnal temperatures

throughout the year’
 The grey band between 20-25 range on y-axis through out the year
indicates the comfort zone.(Dark grey for winters and light grey
for summers)
 It gives DBT WBT (Mean temperatures)
 It also gives information of radiation * Horizontal and direct
normal (wh/sq.m) throughout the year.

 This graph shows the Sky cover range of the city throughout
year.
 The white band indicates the mean cloud cover and yellow
band above and below it indicates the average high and average
low cloud cover respectively.
 The small circles above and below indicates the recorded high
and low cloud cover respectively.
GRAPHS CLIMATE CONSULTANT

 This graph gives the wind velocity range throughout the year.
 The white band indicates the mean wind velocity and yellow band
above and below it indicates the average high and average low wind
velocity respectively.
 The small circles above and below indicates the recorded high and
low wind velocity respectively.

 This graph gives the relation between Dry bulb

temperature(DBT) & Relative humidity (RH).
 The grey band between 20-30 range on y-axis through out
the year indicates the comfort zone.(Dark grey for winters
and light grey for summers)
 In the months of June, July, August and September the RH
value is slightly higher than the remaining months.
GRAPHS CLIMATE CONSULTANT

 This graph shows the Ground temperature range of the city

throughout year at 3 different depths from the ground surface
i.e, at 0.5Mts, 2.0Mts & 4.0Mts below the ground indicated by
yellow line, bright green line and dark green line respectively.
 The last column indicates the annual ground temperature
ranges at different levels below the ground.

 These two graphs shows the

Dry bulb temperature in deg
Celsius in plane and 3D.
 The colour coding is
mentioned in the legends
ranging between 0-38 deg C
from sunrise to sunset,

 These two graphs shows the

path of the sun through out the
year in the city from which
azimuth and altitude angles can
be obtained.
 It shows the sun position at
every hour from sunrise to
sunset throughout the year With
colour coding.
PSYCHROMETRIC CHART CLIMATE CONSULTANT

 It provides the Psychrometric

chart by the weather data file
uploaded.
 This presents physical and
thermal properties of humid
air in a graphical form.
 It gives the relationship
between DBT, WBT7 RH etc
 It also suggests the design
strategies throughout the year.
(in different colour coding)
STRATEGIES GIVEN BY THE SOFTWARE CLIMATE CONSULTANT

 Over-hangs over
windows for given
latitude. Which in turn
reduces the cooling
load.
 Reduced or no glazing
on west façade as it
receives harsh
radiations.
 Simple mechanical fans
can make the interior
comfort for living.
 High performance
double glaze units to be
used.
STRATEGIES GIVEN BY THE SOFTWARE CLIMATE CONSULTANT

 Well orientated and

shaded windows can
help in good natural
ventilation to reduce or
eliminate the use of AC.
 Screened porches can
also acts as a feature for
good ventilation.
 Small shaded courtyards
with fountains which
improves the micro
climate by adding
humidity during
summers will also help
in cooling.
STRATEGIES GIVEN BY THE SOFTWARE CLIMATE CONSULTANT

 Proper apply of passive

strategies can lead to
greatly reduce the use of
air conditioning units.
 Light coloured external
walls helps in reflecting
back most of the
incident radiation.
 Roof has to be treated
well as it is one of the
critical surface. (Radiant
barrier roof can be used)
 Recessed windows with
high mass wall
construction helps in day
time and night time
ventilation too.
STRATEGIES GIVEN BY THE SOFTWARE CLIMATE CONSULTANT

 Vegetation helps in
shading the facades and
also adding upto the
humidity.
 Open plan designs helps
in more natural
ventilation.
 Light coloured flat roofs
work very good in hot
climates like Hyderabad.
 High efficiency AC units
or heat pump units can
be use which proves to
be cost effective in this
climate.
STRATEGIES GIVEN BY THE SOFTWARE CLIMATE CONSULTANT

 Orienting the glazed

facades towards north
side with vertical fins is
better to handle the
radiation cut off
 Maximizing the vertical
height between inlet
and outlet results in
better wind movements
resulting to proper
natural ventilation.
 Simple mechanical fans
NOTE:
Locating the windows
 These are the few strategies suggested by and doors in the
the software by the weather data file that direction of wind flow
has been uploaded. helps again in the
natural ventilation
INFERENCES CLIMATE CONSULTANT

 This software gives accurate information about Dry bulb temperatures, dew points, relative
humidity, wind speed, wind direction, ground temperatures at three different depths, sky cover
and also the sun path diagrams through out the year.
 It also provides the psychrometric chart by which we can understand the relationship between
various variables of the climate.
 By the help of these information we can design the building well responsive to the climate.
 It also suggests the suitable passive strategies as per the climate.
 It overall gives the climate information about the city and helps in designing the building
responsive to the climate
