 Located on the Bicol Region, its capital is the City of Legaspi, the regional
center of the whole Bicol Region, which is located in the southern foothill
of Mayon Volcano, the symbol most associated with the province. This
perfectly symmetrical active stratovolcano forms a magnificent, scenic
backdrop to the city of Legazpi and is visible throughout the municipalities
and cities of Albay including the surrounding provinces.
 Composed of 15 municipalities and 3 cities. The capital of
Albay is Legaspi city, it was named after Miguel Lopez de
Legaspi, the Spanish conquistador who came to the
Philippines on 1565 and started a massive colonization. The
country became the colony of Spain for the next 300 years.

MAYON VOLCANO
 Mayon Volcano is a
sacred and active volcano in
the province of Albay in Bic
ol Region, on the large island
of Luzon in the Philippines.
A popular tourist spot, it is
renowned for its "perfect
cone" because of
its symmetric conical shape.
 The Cagsawa Ruins are the remnants of a 16th-
century Franciscan church, the Cagsawa church. It was
originally built in the town of Cagsawa in 1587 but was
burned down and destroyed by Dutch pirates in 1636. It
was rebuilt in 1724 by Fr. Francisco Blanco, but was
destroyed again, along with the town of Cagsawa, on
February 1, 1814, during the eruption of the Mayon
Volcano.

LINGNON HILL
It is a prominent hill in the city of Legaspi. Some 3 kilometers
west of its downtown port area in Albay, Philippines. The
summit rises about 512 feet (156-meters). It is also a
prehistoric cinder cone near the foot of Mayon some 12
kilometer south – south east of the volcano's summit. It is
mainly composed of dolerite and basaltic volcanic rock.
Located in the town of Jovellar of Albay Province, Quitinday
Falls and Underground River recently gained attention via
social media and instantly became a tourism hotspot since then.
Originally called as Naglaus Underground River, it features a
cave with a freely flowing cold water that falls into a gorge.

The cave is approximately 150 meters long decorated with


stalactites, stalagmites, columns and various rock formations. It
can be navigated by riding a bamboo raft along the
underground river that ends on a two-tier smaller cascades.
Claustrophobics may take the easy trail going to the cave’s
end.
