Quality Assurance Concept
Quality assurance, or QA for short, is the systematic monitoring and evaluation
of the various aspects of a project, service or facility to maximize the probability
that minimum standards of quality are being attained by the production
process.

II. Garment Manufacturing Process
Fabric receive
– Garment factories receive fabric from
overseas/local textile manufacturers in
large bolts with cardboard or plastic
center tubes or in piles or bags.
Inspect at least 10% of total rolls (including all colors & dye lots).
Evaluation is based on the points count system. If failed, the next
inspection is 20%. If still failed, then 100% inspection will be
conducted under supplier cost (Average allowance is around 25
points)
Lighting : overhead cool white florescent (CWF) lighting is recommended for the
inspection. The surface illumination level should be a minimum of 1075 lux (100
foot candles).

IX. Defect Classification
During inspection, all defects found are classified into 3
categories:
1. Critical: a defect that is likely to result in producing an unsafe condition or
contravene mandatory regulation. In our normal practice, no Critical Defect is
accepted; any of this kind of defect found will be subjected to an automatic
rejection of inspection result
2. Major: a defect that would reduce the usability of the product, or that shows an
obvious appearance defect that would affect the sales of the product
3. Minor: a defect that does not reduce the usability of the product, but it is still
beyond the defined quality standard.
