Doko/dochira- doko in English is “where?”. dochira means “which direction?”.can also be used for asking where?it is politer than doko. Rei: jimusho wa doko desu ka. …asoko desu. erebe-ta- wa dochira desu ka. …achira desu. Doko/Dochira are also used for asking the name of the country, company, school or other place or organization to which someone belongs. Rei: gakkou wa doko desu ka. kaisha wa dochira desu ka.
N1 no N2- some other uses of no.
*N1 name of a country and N2 is the name of a product, it means N2 is made in that country.
*N1 is the name of a company and N2 is the
name of a product, it means that N2 is made by that company. *interrogative doko is used when asking where or by what company something is made. Rei: kore wa doko no konpyu-ta desu ka. … nihon no konpyu-ta desu.(country) … pawa- denki no konpyu-ta desu.(company)
