Topic: Six slips occurred in my life

 Human Error

• There are two fundamental categories of human error:

i. Slips and
ii. Mistakes.
 Slips

• Slips result from automatic behavior, when subconscious actions that

are intended to satisfy our goals get waylaid en route. Slips are almost
always small things: a misplaced action, the wrong thing moved, a
desired action undone. Moreover, they are relatively easy to discover
by simple observation and monitoring.
 Mistakes

• Mistakes result from conscious deliberations. Form the wrong goal, and
you've made a mistake. Mistakes can be major events, and they are
difficult or even impossible to detect—after all, the action performed is
appropriate for the goal.
 Types of slips

• Capture Error: I use two Facebook id. This happens occasionally. After
using an id , when I want to login to another id, I suddenly login to that first
id again.

• Description Error: One day I bought a cold drink from outside. After
coming home, I started drinking and using my mobile as well. When I
finished drinking and went to throw the empty bottle in the garbage bucket,
I was throwing my mobile phone in the bucket instead of that bottle.
• Data-Driven Errors: One day I went out with my friends. We were
sitting in a tea stall and talking with each other. Then, a friend said, he
lost my phone number and asked me to give him again. So, at that
moment I was looking at a nice Mercedes car. So, instead of giving
him my phone number, I gave him the number of that car from the
number plate.
• Loss of Activities: One day I was coming from outside, I entered the
house. Then my mother told me to call my father. After that, I was
searching my phone to call my father. But I couldn't find it anywhere.
So my mother also started searching. Then suddenly I put my hand in
the pocket of my pants and saw that I did not take the phone out of my
• Associate Activation Error: Oneday I open the fridge to put my
clothes instead of almirah but even though the fridge is in the dining
room and the almirah is in the bedroom.

• Mode Error: One day I was doing an assignment for a course at

varsity. After writing about half a page, I noticed that the name of the
topic on which I am doing the assignment was not written.
