SUMMIT 2 – SPEAKING QUESTIONS

Unit 1:

1. Talk about a goal or dream you want to make sure to do in your life. Why is
it important to you? What steps will you take or have you taken to achieve
this goal?
Outline:
In my life, I expect to have a happy family.
Step:
Firstly, I need to study hard at my university to learn knowledge. Then I will
be a good software engineering. -> Money -> have a good future -> that is
element to help me perform the second step.
Second step, I need to choose a good wife. Of course, she doesn’t need be
beautiful but she need to know how to do housework.
Finally, I and my wife will train our children. I want them to be good people
who can help this society.

2. What is your dream job? What qualifications and experience do you think
will need for that job?
I’m study software engineering. Of course, becoming good software
engineering is my job dream in the future.
In my job, I think I need to practice my qualification that is skill and train.
Training is very necessary for my job.
Experience is very significant but I need time to get it. That is how to make a
good software with a simple way.

Unit 2:

1. What do you think motivates people to help others, especially people they
don’t know? Provide specific examples from your own or others’
experiences.

I think everyone also have a compassion. I think motivates people to support

others is really necessary. Parent need to train their children to help others
because that is a necessary personality to make them be better. I think we will be

 happy if we help the others because we know that is a good action and we did

Secondly, when our children see the others who is unlucky. They will respect

3. Tell about one situation you have lied. How did you feel after lying? In what
situations can lying be accepted?

I lie my teacher. The teacher asks my class that “did you prepare for your lesson
today? And if you prepared you put your hand up.” In that time I didn’t prepare
my lesson but I also putted my hand up but my teacher didn’t check my
notebooks.

After that lying, I was really regret for that action. I think I was lie my teacher and
that is not action a student should do.

 I think serious problem is pollution environment. People usually through
junks on everywhere. Consequently, the earth’s temperature decrease too
fast.
We need to have a responsibility with our environment. …

1. What are your shortcomings? What are the consequences they have in your
life?

In my life, I have many shortcomings. I think my biggest shortcoming is easy to be

angry. Thus, people cannot joke to me. I think that is element make my life be
boring but that is my personality. Now I’m adult so I think I cannot change it.

When I got high school graduation exam, I really got stress. I cannot pay attention

Yes I think so, I think the dreams have meanings. In fact, I have many dreams in my
life. And, I cannot remember too much about my dreams but sometimes I look at

 some views or some actions I think I have seen it in my dream. I cannot explain
those strange things.

I believe that the dreams come to you when you think about something to much.
That dreams usually relative to your thinking. In my case, when I get up my friend
say to me that “Last night, you spoke English so much.” Then, I say to them “really,
may be that take place because last night I learned English too much.” After that, I
think the things which you think about it too much you will have a dream relative
to that things.

2. Are you superstitious? Why/why not? Why do people believe in

superstitions? Give some common superstitions in your country.

3. Describe a frightening situation that you’ve experienced. Why did you feel
frightened? How did you deal with it? Did anyone help you? What did you
learn from the experience?

Unit 6:

1. What advice would you give to travelers visiting your country? Give some
do's and don'ts in this country.

I have many advices need to give travelers who visit my country. And the first
advice is they must keep an eyes for your valuable things. From my perspective, I
think that is necessary to them. There are many thief in Vietnam. I’m Vietnamese
and I know that usually take place in my country. …… when you use bus and walk
on streets.

Secondly, they shouldn’t cross streets fast because in Vienam, traffic is very
seductive and people drive very fast so let pay attention for transportations. . . .

However, that is some problem social in my country. Coming to my country, you

will feel fun because Vietnamese people are very friendly and hospitable. There
are many nice views in my country. One more special things in my country is food.

 I bet you will really like that because I head some foreigner say to me that they
really like Vietnam food and they extremely like that.

2. What are the things that annoy you most when traveling? How can you
avoid these problems?

I think a thing annoy me most is language. When I travel to Ha Noi. Although I’m
Vietnamese, they couldn’t understand me. There are some works which I say they
couldn’t understand of course I spoke Vietnamese. Consequently, they asked me if
I’m Malaysia. I really got boring.

In that case, I try to explain what I mean. I think we need to study some works in
others place where you intend to travel.

Unit 7:

1. Studies show that intelligence is either inherited from parents or

determined by the environment. Which statement do you agree with?
Explain your answer.

I think intelligence is determined by the environment because from my

perspective, we need to practice to have intelligence. And intelligence is either
inherited that is just a few.

I think no one is burn as a genius and the way on the path to success there is no
footprint of lazy people. That express why intelligence is determined by the
environment.

2. Is it possible that anyone who was not good in school but went on to
become a successful person, or vice versa? Give examples to support your
opinion.

3. How would you define intelligence? Describe and give examples of the
characteristics that people with intelligence have.
