1. Momin Shafiq (190789)
Reason for the selection of interviewees:
I have selected these people to interview because I wanted to gather views and
perceptions of a student living in Pakistan, as well as an employee from a foreign
country, and then compare their views and ideas.
Criteria:
• Student
• Employee
What is their general overview of this social issue?
I have concluded that a student of Pakistan argues that there is a lack of opportunities
here and few other factors such as nepotism which is the major cause of
unemployment.
Whereas on the other hand, an employee from the UK agrees that there are fewer
opportunities in Pakistan as compared to foreign countries which is the main reason
behind the fact that people move to foreign countries for the sake of their career.
Solutions prescribed by the Interviewees:
• People should focus on working hard and stop making excuses and go for the
opportunities that are our country is offering.
• People should move to business-related fields and consider establishing businesses
which will eventually create more job opportunities for others too.
2. Fatima Shaukat (190831)
Reason for the selection of interviewees:
As a student of an underdeveloped country, the future of our nation is solely in our hands. I
asked these two students to kindly spare some time and share their view of unemployment and
lack of opportunities here in Pakistan so I get to know what our youth thinks of unemployment.
Are they ready to cope with it in near future or are they scared of it?
Criteria:
• University Students
What is their general overview of this social issue?
Both the students showed a sign of fret when it comes to them being unemployed in the future.
They were of the view that instead of waiting for an opportunity or creating an opportunity here,
we should broaden our mindset and settle abroad where many job opportunities are waiting for
us. They also stated that lack of firms and big companies in Pakistan is the reason we cannot
move ahead as a nation.
Solutions prescribed by the Interviewees:
Some of the solutions to this problem put forward by my interviewees are that the government,
students and everyone should join hands to eradicate this unemployment. Bigger firms and
companies should be set up here to increase the rate of employment and that fresh graduates
should be hired by the companies. It was also said that the eligibility to apply for a job should be
lessened from 8 years to 2 years.
3. Asjad Jamil (190771)
Reason for the selection of interviewees:
I have selected these people living in our country because they are university students and
unemployment is a issue which they are facing/will face.
Criteria:
• University Students
What is their general overview of this social issue?
I will say that both the interviews were kind of similar in a way, yet so much different.
According to them, Unemployment is caused due to lack of opportunities, less industries and
nepotism. Also, another reason that causes unemployment is overpopulation.
Solutions prescribed by the Interviewees:
• Government should make more industries and create opportunities for the students and
candidates.
• Students should be more focused on developing skills rather than being a bookish person.
• Another possible solution they proposed was self-employment.
4. Qudsiya Malik (190791)
Reason for the selection of interviewees:
I choose those people to interview because the first person is an employee while the other is a student. So I
wanted to have the views of both an employed (a teacher) and a person get employed in future. And I also
wanted to know if educational institutes or the teachers paying their attention towards the student’s skills?
Criteria:
• Student
• Teacher
What is their general overview of this social issue?
The overview of the first person was that the government is not concerned and the deserving people are
not getting good opportunities. And the concept of nepotism is very high in our country. While the other
person is more concerned about the lack of opportunities in our country so that is why the youth is
preferring to move abroad.
Solutions prescribed by the Interviewees:
• The solution prescribed by the first person (a teacher) is that both the government and the private
sectors should take the initiative to solve this issue in our country. As Pakistan is an agricultural country so
the government should focus on the agricultural sector because it is our domain by introducing new
technologies. So, we should work on our domain first, in this way we can increase our GDP ratio in our
country.
• While the solution prescribed by the student is that the students should understand that our country’s
economy is not in a good condition. You must struggle to achieve what you want in your life. And on the
other hand, the government should take its actions and should provide the students with good job
opportunities and the concept of nepotism should be removed from our system.
SOLUTION AND CONCLUSIONS

• Change in Industrial techniques

• Change in Educational system
• Self Employment
• Nepotism should be prohibited
• Policy regarding Seasonal Unemployment
• Focus on Agricultural Sector
• Role of Government
