All about COLORS

The variety of COLORS make our environment beautiful and pleasant to live in.
Have you seen a rainbow? What are the colors of the rainbow?
Look around you and you will see that the world is very colorful. The plants,
the grass, the animals, the bodies of water, the flowers and everything have a
variety of colors. Colors set things apart from one another. They also convey
character and emotions.
Colors are classified into three groups: primary colors, secondary colors, and
intermediate colors.

The primary colors are pure, solid tones and can't be derived from other
colors. There are only three basic colors. These are the sources all other colors

These secondary colors are derived by mixing equal quantities of two
primary colors. Examples are blue and red = violet; red and yellow=
orange; yellow and blue = green

The intermediate colors are produced by mixing equal amount of one
primary and one secondary color. Examples are yellow and green = yellow
green; yellow and orange = yellow orange; red and violet = red violet
Colors maybe described as receding ( cool ) or advancing ( warm ) colors.
Warm colors have long wavelenghths and seem to be near our eyes. They
signify happiness, cheerfulness, aggressiveness, and excitement. These colors
are red, orange, and yellow. Red and orange are the warmest. People with a
happy mood and disposition tend to choose warm colors.
Receding or cool colors have short wavelenghts. They are cool colors to
see and tend to move away from the eyes. These colors are blue, green, and
violet. Blue and blueviolet are the coolest. They signify restfulness, calmnest,
and sadness.
