Management by objectives refers to job performance and achievement

guided by desired results. This concept can be applied in two types of performance.

o Unit performance – management by objectives may be used to set guides and evaluate
Results for groups, units, departments, divisions, or whole school companies.

o Individual performance – management by objectives may be applied or used as a tool

For motivation and measuring individual performance.

Management by objectives as method can be summed up in three steps:

o Superior and subordinate(s) work out realistic performance objectives. They agree on the means
for achieving specified results.

o Compare actual results to expected results at the end of the agreed-on period.

o Specified measurable action by specific time limits for implementation depending on the
results achieved. Right

What is Organization?

Organization refers to a systematic arrangement of parts for the performance of vital

functions. Organization and management of physical education program and the activities
systematically arranged based on a sound philosophy in order to effect positive influences
on the total development of the individual. A well-organized program of activities properly
administered assures the full benefits of its clients.

Organization refers to a group of people who are drawn together by common or similar goals.
Naturally, people begin to form groups if they feel that they can accomplish their goals when
their individual efforts are coordinated. They band together so that their cooperative effort will
lead to the attainment of their goals.

Organization and management of Physical Education and Sport

 Integrity – If a person is honest and sincere, keeps promises, and can be rusted with confidential information,
he can inspire and get the cooperation and love of the people. Without integrity of character a low morale
and an inefficient organization results.
 Ability to instill good human relations - The ability to get along with people is necessary to get the cooperative
effort needed for an organization to achieve its goals.
 Ability to make decisions – Good decisions can be arrived at with an understanding of what is important and
unimportant in a particular situation that is in question, what is reasonable and unreasonable, and in
consideration of the best interest of the organization.
 Health and fitness for the job – Good health and physical fitness often have a bearing on making the right
decisions.
 Willingness to accept responsibility – There are duties and responsibilities that go with leadership and action
is required to insure production or quality output.
 Understanding of work – Familiarity with the particular field in which the organization is engaged is an asset.
One cannot guide purposefully and intelligently if he does not fully comprehend his work.
 Intellectual capacity – This refers to intellectual competence such as the ability to think and reason logically,
to apply knowledge effectively and to communicate efficiently
