I. OBJECTIVES:

II. SUBJECT MATTER:


Topic: Hand Signals Used in Officiating Volleyball Game
Reference/ Sources: Phoenix Book (MAPEH) pg. 16-18 and Learner’s Modules
Materials: PowerPoint, Laptop, Projector and Audio materials (speaker)

III. PROCEDURE:

A. Preliminary Activity
-Prayer
-Greetings
-Checking of Attendance

B. Review
The teacher will ask the class about their topic last meeting. Through question-and-answer
strategy, the teacher asks the learners questions related to the previous topic.
The learners will raise their hand to answer, or the teacher might pick some of the learners
to respond.

Ask the students to recall the previous lesson by asking question/s related to the last topic
given:
-Physical Fitness Test
-Health Related Fitness Test
C. Motivation
The teacher will play a video about Hand Signals Used in Officiating Volleyball Game and the
class will listen and observe. After that, the teacher will ask some questions related to the
topic.

Each team will appoint a member who will draw the given
emoji on the board.
Each group will form a line and I will give the last member of
the group an emoji and will pass the emoji using facial
expression.
The first group who will draw the right emoji wins the game in
a best of 3 game Rubrics of the ac
D. Lesson Proper
 Activity
The teacher will ask the students the following questions;
1. Have you experienced playing volleyball?
2. What are the hand signals that you can observe when the officiating volleyball?

 Analysis
The teacher will divide the class into three groups and will give them activity where three
groups has to pick papers that has a written name of a hand signal in there, each group
has to pick 5 hands signal and they will try to execute the hand signal that is written in
the paper. After it, the teacher will ask the students the following;
1. Do you think that the execution you made was correct?
2. Where have you learned that the skill was executed the way that you performed?

 Abstraction
Using the papers that has written name of the hand signals used in Officiating Volleyball, the
teacher will start the lesson proper in picking the paper and then showing a video or pictures
how the hand signals is properly executed and when it should be done while in the game.

 Application
The teacher will randomly call a student and will let them answer the following;
1. Give three hand signals and tell us what is its importance in the game. (The teacher
will be calling 5 students)
2. Execute the hand signal that I am going to say. (The teacher will call 5 students)

IV. EVALUATION:
The teacher will group the students into three and will let them perform a role play that two or
three in their group member will act as an officiating official, these officials need to execute the
hand signals used in Officiating Volleyball correctly while in the game, and the other members
will be the players, they will be given 5 minutes to practice and 3 minutes to perform. The
student’s performance will be graded using the rubric below;

V. ASSIGNMENT/ AGREEMENT:
The teacher will let the students have an advance reading about the skills in volleyball.
