The main issues plaguing the world right now are :

▫ Hunger
▫ Illiteracy
▫ Poverty
▫ Increasing waste

These are the four horsemen of poor life quality which is the main issue
that the world faces going forward.
 Hunger

 About 8.9 % of the world’s population i.e. 640 million

people go to bed on empty stomachs.
 According to UN report nearly 25000 people in the world
die every day due to hunger.
Illiteracy
 Nearly 34% of the world’s
population is illiterate.
 Illiteracy may lead to
unemployement, child labour,
resortng to illegal activities.
Poverty
 About 600 million people across
the world live in extreme poverty.
 Although poverty has reduced but
the reduction rates are expected to
slow down considerably over the
next decade.

Nearly 2.01 billion tonnes
of solid waste is generated
annually in the world.
Increasing waste
On an average, waste Nearly one million people
generated by a person per die every year whose
day ranges from 0.11 to cause of death is linked
4.54 kg. directly or indirectly to
waste accumulation.

Why should we try to better
the world
Why should we care ?
 The reason is simple.

We do it, for us. No one else. Making our world a

beautiful place to be is something we do for
ourselves so we can live in it, and love it.
We may not be able to solve all of the problems
plaguing it, but we can do our part in minimizing
their effects.

How do we better the world
What can we do ? How do we contribute ?
We can try the following steps to ensure that we are
making a significant contribution
We can contribute towards the cause of :

Education
Waste Management

Donate food supplies.
Try to reduce food wastage.

Guide others towards doing the
