What is Home Automation

History

 Became practical since early 20th century.


 Emergence of home appliance began between 1915 and 1920
mostly.
 In 1966, Jim sutherland, developed a home automation system
called “ECHO 1V”.
 First wires were built in 1960s.

 Home automation is controlling of HVAC, lightning, audio-visuals,


shading, security etc. Using controlling devices, sensing devices
and wireless networks.
 It is limited to a particular section of the society.
 It is not very common in India where as developed countries are
promoting it.
 This can only be made available to common people by providing
it at cheap cost.
