Open Method

Procedure
• Tense the testicles against the scrotal skin
• Incise through the Tunica vaginalis while pressure is applied from
beneath with the other hand
• Separate the spermatic chord into vascular and avascular bundle
• Apply ligature onto the vascular bundle
• Separate the vascular and avascular bundles distal to the ligature
• Repeat the same procedure on the other testicle
• Skin wound can be left open, if sutured leave enough space for the
drainage of fluid
OVH
• Surgical removel of overies with uterine horns
• Caudal mid line incision
• Locate the overies and uterine horns
• Apply stay suture
• Ligate the blood supply from both ends
• Incise the Uterine horns with overies by
scalpal
• Close the skin by simple interupted sutures
Overiorectomy
• Surgical removel of overies
• Same as above procedure
• Uterine horns are not removed alonf with
overies
• Mostly OVH is done done
Amputation of Penis
• Severe, clinical hypospadias .
• Penile deformities
• Make incision through skin to locate retractor
penile musle
• Proceed incision until penis is located
• Graep firmly in hand
• Apply caudal ligature
• Bluntly incise penis
Transmisable Venereal Tumors
• Contagious disease
• Dog penile/bitch vaginal cancer
• Usually vincrystine sulphate as chemotheraputic
agent
• Surgery requres when no effect is shown by above
• Only debridement of Neoplastic growth by scalpal
preferably by cryosurgery
• Not usually done because spread of cancer to
other parts
Paraphimosis
• Unwanted painful erection of penis
• Usually congenetial or due to fibrosis
• Only debridement of fibrotic tissue
C -section
• Surgical incision made to deliver off springs
• All four incision sites can be approached but
flank incision is recommended
• Locate the horn in which off springs are
present
• Incise the horn,take out offsprings from
it,seprate the placenta
• Apply cushing suture pattern
• Close the skin by simple intrupted patteren
