OBJECTIVE :

• The Business objective of this project is to provide the ability to configure Conditions for
Plant wide assets like PLC, Drivers etc. and monitor those conditions when detected and
deliver them to HMI’s.
• This will facilitate plant maintenance engineer/operators for monitoring alarms raised and
take the necessary recommendation based on the severity of the conditions raised.
• Provides an easy-to-use interface for defining plant assets and conditions related to those
assets

functions and reporting
• Suggest maintenance and solved safety issues.

• ASSET Engineering
Asset engineering is a standalone Engineering tool to provide an engineering
environment for adding assets, configuring their conditions and deploying this Condition
Configuration to “Condition Monitor” to start monitoring.

Configuration includes condition rule and metadata fields like “Message”,

“Recommended Action” and “Severity” that will be displayed as additional contextual
information of the condition when it is reported in HMI’s.

Condition Monitoring
This is also known as Condition Monitoring Runtime, which is responsible for monitoring
the parameters/bits defined in the condition rule or expression from the configured data
sources.
Generate the alarms with proper contextual information when the condition rule is satisfied
and deliver the alarms/conditions to HMI.
A Condition represents the alarm that is sent to the HMI.
ASSET ENGINEERING AND CONDITION MONITORING MAPPING

• Asset Engineering is a front end application which will configure all the Data sources,
Areas, Signals and Conditions with Conditions rules for all Assets in a plant . Data which
is configured will be passed to the Condition Monitoring system . The data obtained from
Asset Engineering system will be monitored used its conditions rules.
