 Rationale
Wattpad is known as a platform that acts as a
writing community that connects writers and readers
around the world (Rochester, 2012). There are many
different genres to be read in this app. In this app,
freelance writers can explore various genre that suits
their writing style. Wattpad can also be utilized as a
learning platform that helps new writers discover their
talents and sharpen their writing skills (Nel, 2016;
Birch, 2016).
By analysing how Wattpad readers engage with Classics and Teen
Fiction, Panziola et.al (2020) highlighted that there are different kinds
of readers using Wattpad, and that the social aspect of reading and
genre is affecting the volume of the commenting activity. Classics
have a concentration of many comments in the first chapters, whereas
TF stories are widely commented until the end. Reading some random
comments for different titles, Pianzola et al. (2020) saw that one of the
reasons is the difficulty to understand the language in which Classics
are. Indeed, the low average of comments to Classics, probably means
that users abandoned the book after reading a few paragraphs or
chapters, without commenting much.
 Theoretical Framework

This study is anchored on “Genre Theory” which,

offers away of thinking about how language depends on a
context. This theory is very relatable to the present study,
because the application of this theory to the analysis of
Wattpad Novel introduction in order to help authors to
write good introduction that hooked readers attention.

 Scope and Delimitation

This present study aims to determine the similarities and

differences of novel introduction. Similarities are limited to style,
figurative Language, and tone. This Wattpad Novels analyzed
which focused on introduction are Every Beast Need a Beauty,
Mapapansin Kaya? Until He Was Gone, Heartless, Baka Sakali
by Jonaxx. He’s into Her Season 1, He’s into Her Season 2, He’s
into Her Season 3, He’s into Her Season 4 and He’s into Her 5 by
Maxinejiji.
 Research Design
This study will use the qualitative method of research. A qualitative
method of research refers to the holistic approach that involves discovery. It
includes purposeful use for analyzing and comparing collected data
(Williams 2007).
The framework of the study shows the different methods to be use in
analyzing the top 5 grossing wattpad stories. Context analysis. Is the
systematic analysis – identification, sorting, organization, interpretation,
consolidation, and communication – of the contextual user work activity
data gathered in contextual inquiry, for the purpose of understanding the
work context for a new system to be design.

 Data Source

 
 The data to be gathered to be study will be from the 10 most read wattpad
stories entitled, Every Beast Need a Beauty, Mapapansin Kaya? Until He
Was Gone, Heartless, Baka Sakali by Jonaxx. He’s into Her Season 1, He’s
into Her Season 2, He’s into Her Season 3, He’s into Her Season 4 and He’s
into Her 5 by Maxinejiji by their style of writing, in terms od their style,
figurative language, and tone.
 Procedure

To provide an in depth comparative analysis of 5 most read wattpad of

two authors, the researcher will do the critical reading of the given stories, in
using their knowledge on literary analysis, they will identify in terms of style,
figurative language and tone that used of writing in two different authors.
After which they will identify the comparison between the different
introduction and style of writing will be analyzed. Once this analysis is done,
the researcher will arrive at the generalization of the implication given by the
different style of introduction why readers are hooked in reading wattpad
stories.
