About the Industry
⇨ The Indian Tyre Industry is an integral part of the Auto
Sector.
⇨ India tyre market exhibited moderate growth during 2015 -
2020. India represents the fourth largest market for tyres in
the world.
⇨ The tyre industry is material intensive. Raw materials
account for almost 70% of the production cost. The main raw
material for tyre is rubber , carbon black, and nylon tyre cord
and rubber chemicals.

performance appraisal system in the
organization.
⇨ To find out the effectiveness of performance

FINDINGS
1. 88 percentage of respondents are male.

2. Age of 52 percentage of respondents are between 20 to 35.

3. 35% of respondents and have experience of more than 7 years.

4. 75% says that the organisation operations on formal performance appraisal system.

5. 58% of response agrees job expectations are frequently established before performance
appraisal.

6. 6.58% of respondents say that performance appraisal is conducted by superiors.

7. 7.56% of respondents leg raise that assessment technique is used to measure performance.

8. 8.82% of response agrees performance appraisal is done on the basis of total output.

9. Majority of response that is 89 % agrees performance appraisal improves organisation
output.

10. About 52% of respondents agrees that they clearly understand the purpose of performance
appraisal.

11. 40 % of respondents agrees performance appraisal is a tool for promotion and pay fixation.

positively.

performance appraisal system

18. Spearmans’s rank correlation coefficient indicates there is strong positive association between
performance appraisal influencing the the performance of employees positively and help superiors
to manage people better.

SUGGESTIONS
⇨ The company should give more awareness to the
employees about the performance appraisal system in
the organization.
⇨ It will be better if the management provides incentives
to the employees so it will boost in their work and
productivity.
⇨ During the performance appraisal period the
management can provide employee counseling.

CONCLUSIONS
⇨ A fair performance appraisal process helps to improve the
satisfaction in employees. The willingness to invest additional effort
of towards enhancing production and there by market and financial
position increases. The perfomance appraisal accounting for the
individual and team perfomance of the members will help to increase
the plant output.

⇨ At Apollo tyres pvt ltd., it is encouraging that the overall attitude


towards appraisal system is positive from the employees. The
functioning of performance appraisal system is found to be effective
at the organisation. This can be attributed to the efforts of the
organization to create awareness.
