Illiteracy in Pakistan and how

it can be overcome
What is illiteracy?

 The inability to read.


 Lack of knowledge in particular subject,ignorance.
In Constitution of Pakistan

 State shall be:-


 “responsible for eradication of illiteracy and provision of
free and compulsory education upto secondary level, within
minimum possible time”

 (Article 37-B, Constitution of Pakistan)


Quaid e Azam :

 Said:
 Corruption is a curse in India and amongst the Muslims
espicaly the so-called educated intelligentsia.
unfortunately it is this class that it selfish and morally
and intectually corrupt. O doubt this disease is common
but this particular class of Muslims it is rampant.
Causes of illiteracy:

 Within population of 170 million.


 Better than Nepal and Bangladesh.
 NES show tremendous immblance.
Continued:

 Lack of budget.
 Lack of political will.
 Corruption .
 lack of sufficient infrastructure.
 Lack of professional capacity.
 Lack of public awareness.
Popular reasons:

 Poverty.
 population expansion.
 feudal lords
 wadera system.
 male dominated society.
 lack of school in rural areas.
 Poverty is the biggest disadvantage.
 largest resistance in the development of a country.
 In Pakistan 40% inhabitant live in poverty.
 Feudal system is big obstacle.
 12 countries that spending less than 2% of GDP on
education .
 The extreme low level of public investment.
 Federal education system.
