EXPLICIT
Means direct or
expressly state
.
For example:
John was so mad at her
mother for confiscating
his phone.
iMPLICIT
Means implied or
hinted.
For example:
John frown his face in front
of her mother and walk out,
he slammed the door of his
room the neighbors probably
hear it.
Cohesive devices
are words or phrases that show
the relationship between
paragraphs or selection of a
text or speech.
Examples:
1. The shirts look so expensive
but these are cheap.
2. I have a lot of books and
those really help me.
3. Andrea loves Matt and
Matt loves Andrea.
Therefore, they agreed to be
in a relationship.
Mrs. Jones stopped, jerked him around
in front of her, put a half Nelson about
his neck, and continued to drag him up
the street. When she got to her door, she
dragged the boy inside, down the hall,
and into a large kitchenette-furnished
room at the rear of the house. She
switched on the light and left the door
open.
