Pollution is when gases, smoke
and chemicals are introduced into
the environment in large doses that
makes it harmful for humans,
animals and plants. Some forms of

Types of
pollution
AIR
POLLUTION
Air pollution is caused by solid and
liquid particles and certain gases that
are suspended in the air. These
particles and gases can come from car
and truck exhaust, factories, dust,
pollen, mold spores, volcanoes and
wildfires. The solid and liquid particles
suspended in our air are called aerosols.
WATER
POLLUTION
Water pollution is when waste,
chemicals, or other particles cause a
body of water (i.e. rivers, oceans,
lakes) to become harmful to the fish
and animals that need the water to
survive. Water pollution can disrupt
and negatively impact nature's water
cycle as well.
