The master of the house has a cat. Everyday, the cat kills many mice. On Sunday, the cat kills the mice from the barn. On Monday, the cat kills the mice from the kitchen. On Tuesday, the cat kills the mice from the store.
On Wednesday, the cat kills the mice
from the yard. On Thursday, the cat kills the mice from the back yard.
On Friday, the cat kills the mice from the kitchen
garden. On Saturday, the cat plays with his master. The mice do not know the cat’s plans. One day the oldest mouse says, “All the mice must come to the store. We must think what we can do.” All the mice come. Many mice speak but nobody knows what to do. At last a mouse says, “ We do not hear when the cat comes. We must put a bell on the cat.” “Yes! This is right. We must bell the cat!” cry all the mice. “Out friend has a good plan. Let’s run and get the bell.” But the old mouse says, “This plan is good, but tell me who can put the bell on the cat?” No mouse answers.
The old mouse says, “Who can put the bell on the cat?” No mouse answers again. “Mew!” There comes the sound. Then all mice run away. • Answer the following questions. a. What is the problem of the mice?
