TOPIC TITLE: ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND MANAGEMENT IN COMMERCE

Presented by,
Name: Vindhya N

Roll no.:22
OBJECTIVE

 To
study of applications of various fields in
commerce sector.
 Energy concepts related to the applications.
 Stepsto be taken to conserve energy and manage
systems efficiently.
COMMERCE
• COMMERCE IS THE ACTIVITY OF BUYING AND SELLING OF GOODS AND SERVICES,
ESPECIALLY ON A LARGE SCALE.
• THE SYSTEM INCLUDES LEGAL, ECONOMIC, POLITICAL, SOCIAL, CULTURAL AND
TECHNOLOGICAL SYSTEMS THAT ARE IN OPERATION IN ANY COUNTRY OR
INTERNATIONALLY.
• COMMERCE IS A SYSTEM OR AN ENVIRONMENT THAT AFFECTS THE BUSINESS PROSPECTS
OF ECONOMIES.
• IT CAN ALSO BE DEFINED AS A COMPONENT OF BUSINESS WHICH INCLUDES ALL
ACTIVITIES, FUNCTIONS AND INSTITUTIONS INVOLVED IN TRANSFERRING GOODS FROM
PRODUCERS TO CONSUMERS.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY

 The economic, social and cultural development of human society is highly

dependent upon a consistent supply of energy.
 Sustainable development is therefore only possible, if our society attempts to find
and implement environmentally compatible, socially acceptable and economically
viable means to acquire its energy services.
 This challenge requires systemic and holistic innovations that include a
sustainable supply of resources, the development of highly efficient technical
solutions and the adaptation of energy systems to the environmental, economical
and cultural context as well as the social and political framework to enable
sustainable energy systems to be implemented for the welfare of mankind.
PIC COMPONENT

 Commerce sector majorly deals industries.

 One of the effective way of conserving energy is making use of CNCs
 CNCs are Computer Numerical Controlled systems.

 Component design is highly automated using computer-aided design (CAD) and

computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) programs.
PIC COMPONENT

 The programs produce a computer file that is interpreted to extract the commands needed to operate a
particular machine by a processor, and then loaded into the CNC machines for production.
 Manual input or mechanical input replaced by automated computer input.
 Energy can account for 4-20% of the life cycle cost for
machine tools .
MATHEMATICS COMPONENT

• Business mathematics is mathematics used by commercial enterprises to

record and manage business operations.
• Commercial organizations use mathematics in accounting, inventory
management, marketing, sales forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Mathematics typically used in commerce includes elementary arithmetic,
elementary algebra, statistics and probability.
• Business management can be done more effective in some cases by use of
more advanced mathematics such as calculus, matrix algebra and linear
programming.

ELECTRONICS COMPONENT

 Commerce sector uses many electronic machines.

 One of the methods that can be implemented in order to reduce energy
consumption is use of EMI filters
 Emi filters can be used in
 Radio controls
 Telecommunication
 Factory automation
 Automatic lighting
 TV, monitors, Computers, etc.
 The EMI filter has three types of components that work together to suppress
these signals:resistors, capacitors and inductors.
 Capacitors inhibit direct current, in which a significant amount of
electromagnetic interference is carried into a device, while permitting
alternating current to pass.
 Resistors along with the capacitors form filter circuits.
 Inductors are essentially tiny electromagnets that are able to hold energy in a
magnetic field as electric current is passed through it, thereby reducing total
voltage.
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
COMPONENT
The machine industry is a subsector of the industry that produces a range of
products from power tools, different types of machines, and domestic technology to
factory equipment etc.
Energy-efficient motors are motors that give same output strength by consuming
lesser energy. They usually have:
 higher service factors
 longer insulation and bearing lives
 lower waste-heat output
 and less vibration — all of which increase reliability.

CONCLUSION

 After decades of fear over potential energy scarcity, we are now in an era of
energy abundance, driven by technological innovation.
 If we develop smart policies, we can use affordable and abundant energy to
launch a manufacturing revival, improve our trade deficit, effectively increase
household spending power, and revitalize global economy.
