    The digital divide refers to unequal levels of access to digital technologies between different demographic groups. It commonly exists between cities and rural areas, as well as between more and less economically developed areas. There are four major factors that contribute to the digital divide: physical resources like device ownership; human resources such as digital skills; digital resources including software and networks; and social resources relating to age, gender, religion and other demographic factors. The digital divide is a growing problem that will worsen over time if not addressed.
