How to stand properly
• Stand straight and with feet slightly apart
• Put your chest outward and stomach in.
Let your body feel natural and
comfortable.
• Keep your chin up as though balancing a
book on top of your head.
• Both of your feet should support your body
weight.

How to sit properly
• Sit straight from your neck down to your
hips.
• Make sure that both your knees are
together.
• Place your hands on your lap to rest or
when not doing anything.

How to walk properly
• Always maintain the position that your
body has when standing.
• Feet should be straight, with the toes
pointing forward.
• Make sure that your steps have equal
distances.
• Bend your knees slightly and move your
thighs from your hip joints.

Developing Desirable Health Habits
• Habits are acts we repeatedly do everyday. They are so
much a part of our daily set of activities that later they
become routine.

• Desirable habits promote health as well as wholesome


and happy relationships. Habits are formed in early
years of a child’s life. This is a responsibility that
parents and the older members of the family should
attend to if the younger members of the family are to
grow up as desirable individuals and members of the
family and community.

- Have a definite time for bathing brushing of
teeth and dressing

• Sleep and rest


- Enough time should be given for sleep to
allow the body to rest in preparation for the next
day’s activities

- This is a sign of good health. Good food,
enough rest and sleep, sufficient exercises,
comfortable clothing and footwear, and
discipline help develop good posture.

• Elimination
- A daily visit to the toilet is important for
proper elimination of waste.

• Children should be taught early to make their
