LESSON 4 OBJECTIVES
Objectives:
a. Practice the blockings and 12 striking techniques;
b. Execute the six blocking techniques properly;
c. Perform the 12 striking techniques accurately.
Six Blocking Techniques:
1. Inward Block. Blocks the strikes coming from your left.
2. Outward block. Blocks the strikes coming from your right.
3. Downward-Outward Block. Blocks the strikes coming from the right
to protect the right knee.
4. Downward-Inward Block. Blocks the strikes coming from the left to
protect the left knee.
5. Upward Rising Block. Used to protect the head or the crown.
6. Vertical/Rising Block. Used to block the thrusts to the stomach.

ACTIVITY TIME
Activity 1: Warm Up! Perform the stretching and warm-up exercises to
prepare your body or the activities. Be sure that you are going to do the full
range of motion during the warm-up exercises. Use music as your background
to make your routine more engaging. You may refer to the video below for
your guide or just perform the exercises in the table if you are offline.

Activity 2: Home Practice #3!
 Practice the blocking techniques at home. Ask one from your family
members to help you in this task. You focus on the blockings. Always be
careful and don‘t play with your sticks recklessly. Refer to the lecture on
blocking techniques or watch the video for the demonstrations.

members to serve as your target but DO NOT land any strike. Always be
careful and don‘t play with your sticks recklessly. Refer to the lecture on

Activity 4: Skill Test #2
 Perform the blockings and 12 striking techniques of Arnis. Record a
video of your performance. Upload the video of your performance in the
google drive. The link for the google drive will be given by your
instructor.
