AREAS OR URBAN OUTSKIRTS,IS TO PROVIDE A SELF CONTAINED
LIVING ENVIROMENT FOR EMPLOYEES DIRECTLY CONNECTEDTO
THE PHYSICAL PRODUCTION PLANT.
◼ THE MALABAR CEMENET CORPORATION PROVED TO B E AN
ENLIGHTENED CLIENT WHICH RECOGNISED THE NEED FOR
LOWER INCOME FAMILIES TO SUPPLEMENT THEIR INCOME BY
KEEPING POULTRY,KITCHEN GARDEN ETC. AND INSISTED THEIR
TOWNSHIP TO FOSTER SUCH ACTIVITIES.
◼ IN THIS PROJECT TWO HOUSES ARE GROUPED OR CONNECTED
WITH BRIDGES AND THE NEIGHBOURHOOD IS GENERATED BY
CLUSTERED OF THESE HOUSES.

◼ THE TOWNSHIP IS BUILT INSIDE THE TEAK FOREST WITHOUT


DESTROYING THE NATURAL GROWTH OF THE FOREST.THE
SOUTH BORDER IS THE WALAYAR DAM,EAST BORDER IS TAMIL
NADU.
◼ THE SITE IS A HEAVILY WOODED PROMONTRY JUTTING OUT INTO
WALAYAR LAKE.
◼ THE SITE PLAN ORGANISES SOME 400 HOUSING UNITS GROUPED
IN A CLUSTERS OF TWELVE ALONG THE PEDESTRIAN SPINE.
◼ SOME PARTS OF THIS SPINE IS BRIDGED TO CREATE LARGER
