OBJECTIVE:
➤ Computers have slowly begun to
replace many of our day to day
objects.
➤ Something like a laptop can easily
become anything, given the right
software.
➤ Numerous emulators and simulators
have been developed in order to
make the computer act like
something completely different.
➤ This presentation creates a virtual
drum that can be used using a
webcam and a computer system
alone.

Introduction
➤ Computer vision is a field of artificial intelligence that trains computers to interpret
and understand the visual world.
➤ Computer vision deals with how computer can gain high level of understanding from
• Image
• Video

Figure 2
➤ It seeks to understand how does a human visual system can do.

Computer vision is interconnected to many fields
➤ To solve different problems in computer vision we need to use
different systems

7
Typical task of computer vision:
➤ Recognition:
Object recognition
Identification
Detection
➤ Motion Analysis:
Tracking
Optical flow
➤ Scene recognition
➤ Image Restoration

BLOCK DIAGRAM:

• The project is partitioned into two distinct sections: the

video module and the audio module.
• As the name suggests the video module controls camera,
display and gestures while the audio module controls the
sound features for drum sound playback.

OUTPUT:
The output after creating virtual drum looks like this:-

CONCLUSION:
 The Gesture Detection Module that was consist of our hand gestures
mainly left and right hand was able to correctly identify the presence
and motions of the user’s hands through the video camera.
 The Audio Modules were able to correctly reproduce their
corresponding sound effects of three drums kick, snare and hi-hat.
 Finally, the Display Module that was able to put everything together
into an effective user interface that finalizes what we consider is a
very novel and entertaining virtual drum set.
