express disapproval or a literary
analysis of something by taking a
detailed look at pros, cons and
merits.
It is an act of a critical judgment
passed or expressed on a critical
observation or detailed
examination and review.
A critique, animadversion, and
censure.
It is an act of dissatisfaction
expressed pointing out faults or
shortcomings.

point out your mistakes, but also show
you where and how improvements can
be made.
It is also viewed as a useful feedback
that can help you improve yourself
rather than put you down.
PROJECTED CRITICISM

Projected Criticism is an
emotional, negative reaction to
something you have said or done.
It is simply a projection of a
person’s envy, insecurity, or anger.
WHEN DO WE MISUSE CRITICISMS?

Degrading a person’s reputation or self-esteem.


Telling people what they cannot or should not do
and believe.
Critically judging human beauty and pertaining
ugly sentiments.
Disregarding other person’s point of view and
validation.
Affecting a person’s life through releasing negative
emotions.
POSITIVE EFFECTS OF CRITICISM

Criticism helps people give new perspective and


opens their eyes to the things they may have
overlooked or never considered.
Feedbacks helps a person grow by shedding light
and giving them a n opportunity for more
improvement.
NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF CRITICISM

Criticizing may make a person feel disappointed


and inferior with themselves.
Criticisms can lose people’s hearts, and damage
their own image.
Will not be able to correctly understand or
recognize the reality of the situation to solve.
