INTRODUCTION

CLINICAL CASE
A 12 year old boy came to the doctor
complaining about severe headache and
vomiting. When as asked, he said that he
had fell off his bike and his head was hit in
the process.

DISCUSSION

After examination, it has been concluded that
his vomiting was due to a concussion he has
experienced during his fall.

02 The term “vomiting” describes the forceful


expulsion of the contents of the stomach
via the mouth or sometimes the nose. The
causes of vomiting include anything from
food poisoning to head injuries and brain
cancer. Nausea is the discomfort that is felt
before vomiting but not all nausea actually
results in vomiting.

TREATMENT
Choose foods from all
the food groups as you
can tolerate them to get
adequate nutrition , for
chemotherapy patients,
they’re given
corticosteroids and
cannabinoids.

COMPLICATIONS

Dehydration is the most


common complication related
to vomiting. Vomiting causes
your stomach to expel not only
food but fluids, too.
Dehydration can cause:

dry mouth
fatigue
dark urine
decreased urination
headache
confusion
