GUIDANT HEART DEFIBRILATORS
In 2005 a boy named Joshua oukrop died due to the malfunctioning of the heart defibrillators.
The manufacturer of the defibrillator, Guidant, had learned three years earlier that there was an
electrical problem in its defibrillators.
They refused to recall the defective products and also didn’t informed the doctors regarding the
defect.
After the death of Joshua the company officials met the Joshua’s doctor , Barry Maron ad tried
to convince him about the risks involved.
But the doctor reported the case to media.

FIRESTONE TIRES
Defective Firestone tires on Ford Explorers took the lives of at least 271 people and seriously
injured many more before the companies issued the largest tire recall in history
The two corporations already knew about the deadly tire separation and associated rollover
problems for years
inspection of finished tires was nonexistent and there as lack of quality control initiatives.
In August 2000, Firestone recalled 6.5 million tires.
